Have a PC that came pre installed with windows vista and one of those windows product key number stickers on the side of machine, no installation cd. how do i reset or restore it to factory settings or default ie as sold.

If you want to do a factory reset (you will loose all data) you can always restore Windows from an image on the disk (most computer makers nowadays include it in the hard drive). This varies from make and model, so if you are under warranty, contact the PC maker. Otherwise, do some Google research on how to restore from image for your specific model.
